Arasta and
Valeriath's weyr
You walk into the weyr beside A'rynn's. He pointed out that it was his sister, and as you step into the weyr she comes to greet you. Her brown hair flows out from underneath her scarf tied around her head, and her green dress flows down to her ankles. She jingles when she walks, and you look down to see belled anklets that chime. She's very beautiful, and by the way she walks you can tell she knows it.
"Hello traveller. Let me welcome you to my weyr. My name is Arasta, and I am a Greenrider." She takes you by the hand and leads you into the weyr. It is serenely decorated, with tapestries of the forest hanging from the walls. Sitting beside the small bed is a pot. Growing out of it and along the bed-post is a long vine. Small lilac flowers grows out from it in a beautiful array. From behind you comes a brass bugle, and you turn in surprise to see that a green dragon has come up behind you as you've walked into the weyr.
"That is Valeriath. I grew up at sea with my father and family. He is the Captain of the RedStar Rising, a trading ship. I'm his oldest daughter. One day not to long ago, our ship wrecked not far from Asura Weyr. This ship was able to be repaired, but a few of the crew had been injured during the wreck. My brother was among these, his name is A'rynn. I came inland with him and some others to Asura Weyr. I was supposed to look after him. You can believe how surprised we were when he was Searched, and even more so when I was a few days later." She smiles softly, and it seems as if the whole room is serene.
"When I came inland we came through the forests surrounding Asura Weyr. They are extremely beautiful, are they not? I fell in love with them immediately. I should like to live in the forest, but everyone says it is unheard of. So I came with them to the Weyr, but I brought that small plant with me as a reminder. I visit the forest sometimes with Vali, when she feels up to flying. I'm so glad she's small. Large dragons are to clumsy among the trees. No! Don't touch that!" You had been about to lift up one of the flowers to get a better look at it when she swats your hand away. You take a step back, surprised.
"You shouldn't do that. You could hurt it!" She cradles the flower in her delicate hand for a moment before setting in back in place. The small green dragon yawns, seemingly bored of watching you, and folds up her arms and lays her head down on them. Arasta smiles at this, then she stands up, smiling at you. "I should like to go riding this morning. Would you like me to walk you to the door?" The two of you walk to the entrance of her weyr, and she points out a small white mare not far away, tied to a post. "That is NightRider. She is my pride and joy besides Vale. I got her when I was younger, and we kept her at Asura Hold. Now that I am going to be here, she has been brought here by Papa. I call her Night. Isn't she pretty?"
"Yes, you're such a pretty runner! Pretty, pretty, pretty!" She burries her face into the mare's mane. The horse whinnies softly, turning her head into her master's long hair. Arasta steps back, and quickly mounts the horse. She holds onto the hair at the very back of the mane, with no saddle on the runner. "Perhaps I will see you again, traveller. You can come with me to my walks in the forest. Fare well." With that she digs her heels into the mare's side, and the runnerbeast runs off towards the open end of the Weyr.
'What an odd young woman,' you think as you walk away. She seems a bit out-there, as if she's in her own little word. And perhaps a bit to serene for your taste. But she is all around kind, and sentimental it seems. Perhaps she should meet Greenrider Rixae, they might be good friends.
