The dragon cavern is of medium-size, and it looks fairly clean. There's a good layer of dust on everything but the dragon couch, but all and all it is uncluttered and nice looking. A large blue dragonet sits on the stone couch, eyeing you as you walk into the weyr.

A brown curtain seperates off a small living cavern, from which behind a light can be seen. Looking down at your list, it says that this weyr has been occupied for quite a few Turns by a young woman. She shouldn't be needing anything, but Headwoman Landara said to ask all of the weyrlings if they needed anything. There had just been a Hatching not too long ago, and there were enough supplies to spare to the young dragonriders.

"Hello?" Walking into the living cavern you can hear rustling and moving about behind the curtain. A few seconds later, the curtains are thrown back and a girl steps out. Her head is covered as she pulls a large, flax-knitted sweater over her head.

"Sorry, Zam. I was changing. J'simo really put... me... to..." She trails off as the sweater's neck drops over her head, covering her tank-top beneath it. Her hazel eyes watch you with something that borders on surprise and wariness. After a few seconds she starts to straighten her sweater around her, grinning with an embarassed, child-like quality. "Hello." She says it simply, not being able to keep the grin off of her face.

You hesitate for a moment, looking rather confused. She just kind of watches you with her round eyes, curiousity replacing surprise though she still seems a bit shy. You bring your task back to mind and hold up your clipboard. "I'm taking a small list. I just need... uh..." As you talk you pull the charcoal stylus from behind your ear and hand it to her along with the board. "Name, weyr number, and then I need to know if you need anything from storage."

She smiles, pushing her hair back from her face. You can now tell that it's fairly short, and seems to be flying in all directions. She also stands quite a bit shorter than you yourself, and her face has a round, youngster quality. She reaches out and takes the board and stylus from you, her sweater covering most of her hands. As she writes you watch...

"Querri?" You look up from the clipboard and back at her. "You're Rini's daughter?" You smile, suddenly feeling a good deal more relaxed in the presence of a fellow Lower Cavern worker's family. "Your mother talks about you quite a bit. I, uh, recognized your name." You smile lightly as you explain. The look of surprise vanishes from her face and she smiles. "Yep. She talks about her little girl all the time."

Querri looks up at you again, but not with surprise or a smile. "Little girl?" Her voice rings with a plaintive sound. "Figures..." She huffs dramatically, shaking her mop of blonde hair. She hands you back the board. "Ummm, let me go see what I need, all right?" She ducks behind the curtain.

Even though you can't see her, you can still hear her. "Dare I ask what you meant by that?" You lean back against the stone wall near the curtain, deciding not to follow since she pointed out it'd only take her a minute. Your eyes idly scroll down the list of weyrs you've already visited.

"What?" Querri's head pokes out from the side of the curtain next to you. You repeat yourself with a grin and she stares back at you with round eyes. "Oh." Her head disappears again and you can hear her rustling around inside. "My mother still treats me like a child, even after I Impressed Arroth. How old would you say I look?"

You think for a moment, considering her size and mannerisms. Then you think of how she'll react if you guess too low. "Oh, I don't know. How old?"

She reappears again, her arms filled with a pair of bowls and three wooden cups. They're nestled against her loose sweater as she looks over at you with a chagrined look. "Nice way to avoid the question." She pauses to grin impishly, then turns serious again. "Actually, I'm twenty." She shoves the bowls and cups into your arms.

You nearly drop your load from surprise: surprise at her age and surprise to suddenly find yourself trying to balance a small load of dishes. She retrieves one of the cups you drop, setting it on top of the clipboard. You raise an eyebrow, then look from the dishes to her.

She looks up at you innocently. "Well, I don't need anything from the Lower Caverns I can't get from my mother. These, however, need to go back before Landara tells J'simo I need pot-mending chores again." She wrinkles her nose in an impish manner.

The air above the two of you suddenly turns into a small ring of chirping, creeling firelizards. The blue and the green drop down, the blue landing on Querri's shoulders and the green hopping around on the floor. "By Faranth, took you two long enough." She loops a hand underneath the blue's chin. "Did you see Zam?"

The blue chirps hurridly and croons as she releases his head and scratches him under the chin. "Good boy, Shunu." She turns back to you and grabs the two bowls out of your arms. "Looks like I'm heading towards the Lower Caverns anyway to get oil for Arroth, so I'll help you carry these back. Come on, Adee." The green jumps into the air at her words and glides out of the weyr after the pair of you.

Arroth slowly climbs to his feet and follows the two of you out. {{Really, Querri. Always drafting someone else to do half the work for you.}} The blue's words are teasing, but with a laughing quality.

[[Oh be quiet, Arr.]]
