T'thys and Madorinth's weyr

You enter the next weyr after a good night's sleep. The sun is shining bright over the rim of the weyr bowl, and the Lower Cavern's cot was actually quite comfortable. You walk past Yarrow's weyr to the one beside it. This one is considerabley larger and you walk into the brightly lit quarters.

"What are you doing here?! Don't you know it's rude not to announce your entrance?!" Your mood is disrupted by the young man who stands in front of you. His hands are crossed in front of him. He has sharp, chiseled features that look quite handsome. Right now, though, they are turned in a sneer at you.

"I'm... I'm... a visitor!" You manage to stutter out under his glare.

"Still. Manners count. Come in if you want." With that he turns. You walk in slowly after him, telling yourself he's probably much nicer than your first impression of him. The weyr itself is very nice. The empty dragon room to the left is very spacious, with a large dragon couch and a large dragon to match! The brown watches you as you and T'thys walk through the dragon chamber. His eyes glow a comforting green opposed to the boy's harsh manner. He watches still as you disappear into the living chamber.

The walls are covered in colorful tapestries. And the way he dresses! He wears a light blue tunic, gathered at the waist beneath a black belt clasped with a bronze buckle. His pants a deep blue, made of the same soft cloth as his shirt. And his knee-high boots are of a deep black hide. He spins around to look at you, and you take in his look for a moment. He has nicely tanned skin, and his black hair falls into his black eyes. If he didn't have the incredulous grin on his face you'd think him to be quite handsome. "So... what is it that you want?"

"I came to visit the people of the Weyr." You say, growing cold to his superiority act.

"The people of the Weyr?" He laughs, not a happy laugh but an almost sad laugh. "I'm rather new here, you'll have to excuse me. You see. My name is T'thys. I'm the son of Lord Holder Tethrolin and Lady Holder Irys and the rider of Brown Madorinth. I've two brothers who are older than myself, which means I'll inherit nothing of Asura Hold's riches. Instead, when a Search dragon came riding my father pushed by out the door and wished me luck at my Hatching. So you'll excuse me if I'm a bit sour of being one of the..." He pauses, adding a sneer to his next words. "People of the Weyr."

"Being a dragonrider is a great honor!" You shout as he begins to turn away from you.

"An honor?" He spins back around, his black eyes on fire. "Do you want to know what I think? I've seen common drudges picked by a dragon from the Stands. But in those Stands, I was higher than those drudges. I am the son of a Lord Holder, and thus nobility. But as soon as I Impressed a dragon, I'm no better than that common drudge. As soon as a dragon picked me from the Sands I'll be a dragonrider. No one will look up to me for my birthed rank. And do tell me how many women these days want to marry a dragonrider? As soon as the next green flight comes along the relationship is over and the woman moves onto the rider of the dragon that caught hers! There's no morals there." He glares at you again, his speech seeming to have softened somewhere near the end.

Then he begins to glare again, and he turns away from you. "You know the way out, please don't let my absence of walking you out stop you from leaving. I won't carry on this conversation." With that he throws open the curtains to the bathing chamber and disappears behind them.

"Oh yeah? Well I pity poor Madorinth!" With that you yourself turn and walk out of the weyr. 'He's no better than a wherry. Lord Holder's son. More like a tunnel-snake's child to me.' You think to yourself. 'Perhaps the only good thing about him is that he's actually considered morals.' Then again, nobility with morals? That's as uncommon as sour Benden wine. 'So much for him. The only thing that could turn him around is Impressing. And I doubt that poor brown could even accomplish that'

You gladly continue to the next weyr, waving to the brown as you walk by.

{{Well it doesn't mean I can't try.}}

You stop in your tracks, turn around slightly, shake your head in disbelief, and continue on.
